As of January 28th 2010, I have being hearing a lot of good things about this restaurant so during our 2nd Wedding Anniversary we decided to spend our special moment there. We had no way to get their at 7pm in the evening so we called for a cab.
When we arrived there we first noticed that the RED LOBSTER sign in the back was only reading RED LOB. The sign that shows their customer the way to the restaurant has broken lights & they possibly never considered it a priority for it to be fixed. However as the driver was driving towards the front their frontal sign was lighting ok. The sign I believe is very important and should work during the day & the night to show everyone that their store is indeed focused on class.
Regardless we planed to move forward with the idea of eating there. At first, I worry that this restaurant needed for us to call them in advance and I never did that. When we entered the area we were greeted by two young ladies and asked us for how many people today? We replied two, they looked at their seating plan and quickly pointed us to our seats. The lady that escorted us to our seat never bothered to ask us to wait for our server and just left.
At this point we didn’t seem to mind as we were just thinking of the wonderful food that we will be served.
A few minutes later we were greeted by a male server by the name of Troy & politely introduced himself to us & offered us their specials & the signature dish for tonight. We finally agreed on two orders of ice tea, two orders of Crispy Calamari and Vegetables, one order of their Ultimate Feast the signature dish of tonight which basically consist of Rice & baked Salmon.
My first impression was that the restaurant was very commercialized. The tables where designed so that the designated area can sit a big number of patrons to the business. However I feel that it has been compress too much that the tables where made a little too small for anybody to sit at comfortably. Our sever made us feel really welcome to the place therefore we didn’t again seem to mind this.
Our first set of food that came out of the kitchen where our two order of clam chowder soup. I’d say, the soup was tasty but leaning towards bland for me. My wife didn’t seem to mind as she was very hungry at this time.
It was then followed by two orders of our Crispy Calamari & Vegetables which seemed like an enormous order as they mixed the two orders and just placed it onto one big plate. This was one of our usual favorites. As we both debated whether it was processed food or made from scratch. However, it was very tasty regardless, unfortunately we weren’t able to finish it as the two orders where pretty big.
Throughout the course we were continuously being refilled with our favorite drink, Ice Tea.
As the main course arrived we looked at how big the serving were as we attempt to consume the entire lot. I was busy consuming food while my wife busily attended to passing half of her food over to my plate.
I did enjoy my baked salmon on rice but I was simply too full to continue on to the desert part of the course. My wife was pretty busy enjoying her crabs, lobster & shrimps. I too enjoyed the taste of her dish.
At the end, when we got to our bill we paid close to $120.00+ including the servers tips.
Our Review Ratings : 3.8 / 5.0
Was it worth it? Well I think we will go their again but not in the near future, we figured that it was a little too expensive for our taste.
